My career has been a deliberate journey spanning both public service and academic inquiry. I have cultivated a unique dual perspective by navigating the corridors of state power as a legal advisor and engaging in high-level strategy on the front lines of civil society. This practical experience is deeply intertwined with a rigorous academic foundation in constitutional law and investment treaty arbitration. This trajectory—from state insider to civil society strategist and scholar—informs every aspect of my work on governance, transnational law, and socio-environmental rights.
Board Member | Fundación Kaa Iya (Current)
As a board member for one of Bolivia's leading environmental and community rights foundations, I contribute to the high-level strategic direction for conservation, sustainable development, and the defense of indigenous collective rights. My role involves shaping transnational advocacy initiatives and providing legal-strategic oversight to further the foundation's mission in critical socio-environmental landscapes.
Legal Advisor & Public Policy Specialist | Bolivian Public Administration (Over a Decade of Service)
For over ten years, I served in various capacities within the Bolivian public administration, gaining an invaluable insider's perspective on governance. As a Legal Advisor for the Gobierno Autónomo Departamental de Chuquisaca, I was responsible for presenting and shaping regional regulatory frameworks. My tenure is culminating as a Legal Coordinator at GRGD - Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), Bolivia's state gas enterprise. In this role, I coordinate major energy projects and navigated the complex legal and contractual landscape of the extractive sector, providing me with a deep, ground-level understanding of state-corporate dynamics.
